Goals are an important part
in everybody’s life. They are important because it acts as your benchmark,
means of motivation and it gives you a sense of satisfaction when you
accomplish it. So, setting goals becomes vital in your life but this is only

Every human is different.
Each one of us have different abilities and capabilities, and a single method
is not suitable for everyone. The only similarity with everyone is regularity. Consistency
in performance, planning and checking the progress are the key elements to
complete any goal, no matter big or small.
Understanding the objective of your goal
This is the most basic thing.
If you know why it is important for you to achieve your goal and what will you succeed
when you complete it, you will always do things and make decisions which will
help you realize your dreams. Understanding your goals is like knowing your
target while you are shooting an arrow. If you know it, you have a good chance

you will move in the right direction towards accomplishing it.
Setting goals

making a perfect plan or waiting for a perfect plan, think of all the
dimensions, create an action plan and make efforts to make it perfect.
The goal should be specific,

Make smaller goals
You must have heard penny
and penny make many. It shows that small things together can make a big
picture. Same goes with achieving your goals. To achieve your ultimate goal,
break it into your monthly, weekly and daily goals. This way, it will not be an
Everest. Also, it is not possible to concentrate for a very long period of
time.
In cricket, during a test
match (spans for 5 days) the players must concentrate for a very long period of
time. The ultimate goal is to win the match. So, they set targets for the day,
sessions and some even make strategies ball by ball. This way they are able to
maintain their focus for a long time.
Completion of smaller
goals act as a progress checker, confidence builder and it strives you towards
achieving excellence. It is not
possible that you will complete every task in time but even if you can complete
90% of your tasks, there will a high chance that you can do very well in
achieving your dreams.
Write and read your goals and achievements
Our mind has to do a lot of
processing to achieve the goal, so, cut out the its burden by writing your
goals and your progress so far. When you write your goals and read it from
time to time, it acts as a reminder to our brain and the chances of
completing the task increases. It helps us to divert the attention on realizing
our dreams from other unnecessary activities.
When you write your
achievements, it will help you track your progress and you will feel confident
when you see how much you have achieved so far. It also helps to see whether
you are going in the right direction or not.
Action plan
Action is required to do
anything. Only fantasizing won’t help a lot. After you have done all the
planning, it’s time for you to group all the tasks in the best way and start
working on it. Don’t think about failure, just do it. Remember, there is a
difference between failing and failure. Everyone fails at some point of life,
the one who accepts that becomes a failure.
If you want to conquer fear, don’t sit at home and think
about it, go out and face it. Be consistent
in your work and most importantly, be honest with yourself. You are
doing the work for yourself and if you are not doing it, you are just fooling
yourself.
Check the progress
There will be lots of
difficulties in your road to success. You cannot deal all of it in a single
way. You need to keep developing yourself. Nobody is perfect so there is always
a room for improvement. If you think you have become a master in anything,
then try breaking your own limits. If you can do it, then so do others can.
This means, don’t ever stop learning.
You can do this by keep
checking your progress. Your smaller goals will help you in keeping track of
your progress. The more the number of tasks you will complete, the closer you
will get to your goal. If you are able to complete all those tasks, then that
will be a proof that you are doing great. You should take that as a motivation
and gradually increase your capabilities.
Achieving goals is a very
special feeling but the work doesn’t stop by just accomplishing it. There will
only be a change in your goal. After you have reached the top, the next
goal will to be there for as much time as possible. So, just like learning is
never ending, achieving goals are never ending as well.
