While I was growing up, I heard the word ‘Perfectionist’ many times. It was used for many legends. Be it Aamir Khan (Indian Actor), Sachin Tendulkar (Cricketer), Roger Federer (Tennis Player) to name a few. However, I thought perfectionist means to be the best in everything. So, I tried to develop many hobbies from painting, singing, poetry, dancing, piano, writing, to be a person who is always ready to help. So, whenever anyone said to me Mr. Perfect than it meant everything to me. Although it was great to know many things at once, but when it came to master everything I know, instead of enjoying all those things a burden was created on me. It was like why am I doing this? Will this change the view how people see me? In this modern era, technology has increased significantly. It has made people closer to each other but somewhere down the line, it has robbed us from the most important thing for us, that is self-love. We are constantly comparing ourselves to others, developing habits, behavior and skills like others. As a result, we are not valuing what we are and because of that, many people are no longer the same person they used to be. This may be the prime reason that depression has increased significantly in the 21 st century, specially in case of teenagers.
