Motivation and Positive Self Talks

Motivational books, videos, seminars, talks and writeups! In today’s world, where depression is on the rise, a lot of people are searching for positivity and motivation in their lives. It has become so important that it is a skill nowadays. People who are self-motivated and who can motivate others are in demand by schools, colleges, business firms and the government as well.

But the problem is, people don’t try to understand why they are being less motivated. As a result, when they read, listen or see anything inspirational, they get motivated for some time but after a while, all is lost in the air. They need to understand themselves, what they really want and whether it is good for them or not.

Motivation is an inner feeling. No one can make you feel it for a long time, they can only guide you to find your fire burning inside you. First, let’s understand why motivation is important for any person.

You all have come across a point of time in your life when you wanted something very badly, as a result you gave your best and when you achieved it, you felt like it was a big achievement. It does not matter whether it was a small or a big task, the sense of accomplishment is beyond anything. The point is when there is deep desire to do anything, you will strive greater efforts towards achieving it. Motivation not only helps in the process of achieving your goal but also after when you set your next target. Where there is a will, there is a way.

The next question is certain, how to find motivation?

The answer is simple, talk to yourself, you know all the answers. Now let’s elaborate this line.

Positive self-talk is extremely important. As you all know self-study, self-help, self-love are better, then why not try self-talk as well. While doing this, you need to be careful that you are relaxed because emotions can cloud your judgement. There is no need to make a quick decision or decide anything just for the sake of it. Take your time, relax and just talk everything with yourself. This will help you to know yourself better and you will know what is best for you.

No person can know you 100%, only you know who you really are. Others may say things that may be right about you but they can’t be right every time. Afterall, it’s your life, then why not make the most important decisions of your life by yourself. This way you will find what you really desire in your life and when you find it, you will do everything you can to achieve it.

Personally, I always do self-talk when I want to make some plans for myself or when I am feeling a little alone. You must be thinking, a person who always writes stuff on positivity and happiness, if he is also feeling alone then this means he just writes it and don’t follow it. Well let’s be honest here. There is not a single person in this world who haven’t faced tough times or haven’t felt that there is nothing in this world. Everybody at some point of time doubt himself. At this stage, the people who step up becomes an inspiration for others.

So, back to what I do. Generally, I try to do this little talk with myself right before I go to sleep. The reason is simple. There is no pressure of completing anything more that day, I will just go off to sleep. So, my mind is fully relaxed and so is my body, a perfect combination to think and to think big.

But it doesn’t mean you can’t do it any other point of time. Sometimes, I do it when I am in college or sometimes when I travel. The only important thing is to just focus on what you want to talk and do it with expressions as well. This will help you more. The clearer the thoughts and talks the better will be the result.

Just start with a simple greeting and then come to the topic where you want the answer. It can be of your goals, dreams, relations or anything which is making you less productive. But do all this with expressions, make it real and you will find your answer.
